The circle of life dictates that you’ll come across seasons of all kinds. But, even with this knowledge, you can never be prepared enough for the hard times.
So, what do you do when trouble strikes? As a Christian, the Bible is your most trusted resource. This blog highlights beautiful verses that you can refer to during hard times. They’ll renew your hope and give you the strength to face the future with courage.
Romans 8: 26-27
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit interceded for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
The hard times can be debilitating, making you lose even the strength to pray. But the good Lord understands this. And, He allows the Holy Spirit to intercede for us understanding the pains in your heart and transforming them into an effective prayer.
This verse is an encouragement to pray through and in the wilderness. Your heavenly Father hears, and He shall come to your rescue.
Psalm 56:8
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.
It’s easy to lose hope in God when you’re suffering. Constant hardship has a way of making you feel like God has turned His back on you. However, this is the devil’s misdirection.
The scripture in more ways than you can count emphasizes God’s closeness to the broken-hearted. He cares about you and your sorrow. So, always turn to him for comfort and encouragement. He is always a good and wonderful Father.
Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of faith. For the joy set before Him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Christ Jesus gave up his life for you that you may find salvation. This verse is a gentle reminder that if He did it, you can too. Fix your gaze upon Him, He will equip you with the strength you need to endure the difficult times.
Jeremiah 29:11-13
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
This verse is a timely reminder from the prophet Jeremiah of God’s plan for your life. It doesn’t matter the difficulty you may be facing right now, trust that God has a better plan for you. So, keep on the faith and keep hope alive, everything is going to work out for your good.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so you can endure it.
The Apostle Paul in this verse reminds Christians faithful that challenges are a way of life. Not all seasons will be sunshine and daisies. Things can go wrong.
However, God will not let you be tested more than you can handle. And He will always provide a way for you to pull through it. Therefore, don’t give up hope, the storm will pass and the future is destined to be brighter with Him by your side.
Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
As a Christian, you don’t have to go through hard times alone. You can walk the journey with God. he is an ever-present father who will sustain you through life’s storms.
Turn to God and pray to Him when going through a hard time. Lay your problems bare before Him. He will carry you through.
1 Peter 5:6-11
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while will himself restore you, and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.
This verse teaches you to trust in the Lord. Have confidence that He is in control and that everything will work out for your good.
Granted, it can be difficult to see this when you’re in the thick of things. But, be hopeful that He knows all that is going on. And, He will restore you.
With God on Your Side, You Shall Emerge Victorious

It provides you with spiritual strength and comfort that helps transform your mindset and build resilience. Cling to God’s word through these Bible verses and you’ll be able to transform your life and cultivate enduring faith to help you sail through the hard times with ease.
